  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

  5. Gradually mix in flour mixture, alternating with milk and sour cream.

  6. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.

  7. Pour half the cake batter into the prepared baking dish.

  8. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.

  9. Pour remaining batter over the cinnamon mixture.

  10. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.

  11. Using a knife, swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.

  12. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  13. Cool cake completely before slicing and serving with whipped cream.
