How To Make Lamb Biryani Recipe
An aromatic rice dish cooked with juicy chunks of lamb, infused with rich Indian spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb of lamb, cut into cubes
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 2 onions, sliced
- 3 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp of ghee
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- 1 tsp of coriander powder
- 1 tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 tsp of chili powder
- 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste
- 1 cup of yogurt
- Salt, to taste
- 4 cups of water
- Chopped cilantro, for garnish
Instructions

Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly with water and soak for 30 minutes.

Heat the vegetable oil and ghee in a large pot and add the bay leaves, cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and cumin seeds.

Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.

Add the lamb cubes and ginger garlic paste to the pot and cook until browned.

Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt to the pot and mix well.

Add the yogurt to the pot and cook for 5-10 minutes.

Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot with 4 cups of water. Mix well.

Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until rice is cooked and all water has evaporated.

Once cooked, fluff the biryani with a fork and garnish with chopped cilantro.
