How To Make Jamaican Oxtail Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 lb oxtail, cut into pieces
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 onions, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 sprigs of thyme
- 2 scallions, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Cooked rice and beans, to serve
Instructions

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the oxtail and brown on all sides.

Remove the oxtail from the pot and set aside. In the same pot, add the onions, garlic, thyme, scallions, carrots, and bell peppers. Cook until the vegetables are softened.

Return the oxtail to the pot and add the beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, bay leaves, allspice, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the oxtail is tender and the flavors have melded together.

Serve the Jamaican oxtail hot over cooked rice and beans. Enjoy!
