Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 leek, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Cut the top off the loaf of bread and remove some of the inside to create a hollow cavity.

  3. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the leeks, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the leeks are soft and slightly caramelized.

  4. Fill the cavity of the loaf with the cooked leeks.

  5. Layer the cheddar cheese and bacon on top of the leeks.

  6. Place the top of the loaf back on and wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.

  8. Slice the loaf into individual sandwiches and serve hot.
