Ingredients

  • 8 slices of whole wheat bread
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices of cooked turkey
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread and spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice.

  2. Top each slice with a lettuce leaf, followed by 2 slices of turkey, avocado slices, cucumber slices, and a slice of Swiss cheese.

  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, if desired.

  4. Place another slice of bread on top and repeat the layers of lettuce, turkey, avocado, cucumber, and cheese.

  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread.

  6. Cut each sandwich into quarters and serve.
