How To Make Savoury Granola

Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (such as almonds, cashews, and walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, mixed nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, maple syrup, and soy sauce. Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and toss well to coat.

  4. Spread the granola mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Remove from the oven and let the granola cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container.

  6. Serve as a topping for salads, soups, or yogurt, or enjoy as a snack on its own.
