How To Make Sourdough Focaccia

This is a savory Italian bread with a soft and chewy texture, topped with olive oil and herbs.

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine sourdough starter, bread flour, and salt. Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  2. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.

  3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  4. Punch the dough down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Use your fingers to create dimples on the surface.

  5. Drizzle olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with dried herbs.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
