How To Make Salted Almond Brittle

This sweet and salty treat is made with crunchy almonds and a hint of salt for the perfect balance of flavors.

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Spread the almonds evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Set aside.

  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and sea salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has melted and the mixture is smooth.

  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up, so be careful.

  5. Quickly pour the hot caramel over the toasted almonds on the baking sheet, spreading it out to create an even layer.

  6. Allow the brittle to cool completely, then break it into pieces.

  7. Serve and enjoy!
