How To Make Salted Almond Brittle
This sweet and salty treat is made with crunchy almonds and a hint of salt for the perfect balance of flavors.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Spread the almonds evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Set aside.
-
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and sea salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has melted and the mixture is smooth.
-
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up, so be careful.
-
Quickly pour the hot caramel over the toasted almonds on the baking sheet, spreading it out to create an even layer.
-
Allow the brittle to cool completely, then break it into pieces.
-
Serve and enjoy!
