How To Make Prosecco Cake

A light and refreshing cake infused with the bubbles of Prosecco, perfect for any celebratory occasion.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Prosecco
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the Prosecco and milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing just until combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

  7. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar.

  9. Serve slices of Prosecco cake and enjoy!
