  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, applesauce, peanut butter, and vanilla extract.

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. Gradually stir in the almond milk and honey.

  6. Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
