How To Make Make-ahead Mince Pies

What better way to get you in a happy mood than having a slice of pie? These baked dishes are perfect for those who can’t get enough of flaky pastries. From an apple variant to a lemon meringue, these pies pastries recipes will satisfy your pie and pastry cravings.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of mincemeat
  • 1 pack of ready-made pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface.

  3. Using a round cookie cutter, cut 8 circles from the pie crust.

  4. Using a smaller cookie cutter, cut out shapes from the remaining pie crust circles (optional).

  5. Place half of the pie crust circles in a greased muffin tin, pressing them gently into the bottom and sides.

  6. Fill each pie crust with a spoonful of mincemeat.

  7. Cover each pie with the remaining pie crust circles, sealing the edges with a fork.

  8. Brush the tops of the pies with beaten egg.

  9. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pies are golden brown.

  10. Allow the pies to cool completely before removing them from the muffin tin.

  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
