How To Make Jalapeño Jelly

Ingredients

  • 6 jalapeño peppers
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 package powdered fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. Remove the stems, seeds, and membranes from the jalapeño peppers and bell peppers. Finely chop them.

  2. In a large pot, combine the chopped peppers, apple cider vinegar, and powdered fruit pectin. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.

  3. Gradually add the sugar, stirring until dissolved. Continue boiling for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from heat and skim off any foam from the surface.

  5. Pour the hot jelly into sterilized jars, leaving a 1/4-inch headspace. Seal the jars tightly.

  6. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

  7. Remove the jars from the water bath and let them cool completely. Check the seals before storing.
