How To Make Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

In a small dish, mix together the 2 tablespoons of sugar and the ground cinnamon.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.

Place the dough balls onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
