How To Make Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and molasses.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, then roll each ball in the remaining 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.

Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until puffed and cracked on top.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
