Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking dish with parchment paper.

  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and mix in granulated sugar until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and vanilla extract together. Gradually add the egg mixture into the butter-sugar mixture, stirring well.

  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until just combined.

  5. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.

  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture onto the batter. Swirl the two together using a knife or toothpick.

  7. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top, and once again, swirl in the cream cheese mixture.

  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  9. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
