How To Make Instant Pot Chicken Korma Recipe

A flavorful Indian dish made with tender chicken cooked in a rich and creamy sauce of coconut milk, spices, and yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Set Instant Pot to Saute mode and add oil.

  2. Once hot, add onions and saute until they turn golden brown.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

  4. Add all the spice powders and saute for a minute.

  5. Add chicken and salt, and saute for a few minutes until the chicken is sealed.

  6. Add coconut milk and yogurt, and mix well.

  7. Cancel Saute mode, close the lid and set the Instant Pot to Manual/Pressure Cook mode. Cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.

  8. Once done, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes and then do a quick release.

  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
