How To Make Fig Newtons Stuffed French Toast

A heavenly breakfast featuring warm French toast filled with sweet Fig Newtons.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 8 Fig Newtons
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Powdered sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

  2. On a flat surface, flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin.

  3. Place a Fig Newton in the center of each flattened bread slice and roll it up tightly.

  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat with a pat of butter.

  5. Dip each roll in the milk and egg mixture and add it to the skillet.

  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  7. Dust some powdered sugar on top of the French toast rolls before serving.
