Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter, for brushing
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
-
In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the milk and 1/4 cup melted butter until warm.
-
Add the milk mixture, warm water, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
-
Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
-
Cover and let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes, until they become puffy.
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter.
-
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and brush with more melted butter, if desired. Serve warm.
