How To Make Sausage & Mushroom Lasagne recipe

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagne noodles
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 Italian sausages, casings removed
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagne noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until softened.

  3. Add mushrooms and cook until browned and softened. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, cook sausages until browned and cooked through. Break them up into small pieces using a wooden spoon.

  5. Return mushroom mixture to the skillet with the sausages. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the sausage and mushroom mixture. Top with a layer of lasagne noodles.

  7. Spread a layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is golden and bubbly.

  9. Remove from oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
