How To Make Easy Healthy Falafels

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and baking soda. Pulse until well combined but still slightly chunky.

  2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour until the mixture holds together.

  3. Shape the mixture into small patties or balls.

  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  5. Cook the falafels in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Serve hot with pita bread, hummus, and tzatziki sauce.
