How To Make Blueberry Lemon Cookies with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

Each bite of these lemon cookies is bursting with blueberries. The soft, cake-like treats are also covered in a tangy cream cheese frosting.

  • cupsall purpose flour
  • 1tspbaking powder
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 1lemon zest
  • 10tbspbutter,softened
  • cupsgranulated sugar
  • ¼cupsour cream
  • 2large eggs
  • 1lemon juice
  • 6ozblueberries,about 1 cup

For Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • ½cupbutter,softened
  • 8ozcream cheese,softened
  • 1lemon zest
  • 1lemon juice
  • 4cupspowdered sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper. In a medium sized bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, and lemon zest. Set aside.

  2. In a medium sized bowl or a stand mixer beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add sour cream, eggs, and juice of a lemon until incorporated.

  3. Slow add in the flour mixture until combined. Gently fold in blueberries.

  4. Drop by 2 tablespoon full onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges. Let cool on a wire rack.

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting:

  1. Beat together butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

  2. Add lemon zest and juice and slowly beat in the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Frost cooled cookies.
