Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Gradually whisk in the cornmeal and salt.

  2. Reduce the heat to low and cook the mixture, stirring constantly, for 15-20 minutes until thickened.

  3. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese and butter until melted and well combined.

  4. Serve the cheesy polenta hot as a side dish or as a base for meat or vegetable toppings.
