Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup diced fresh tomato
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt.

  2. Slowly stir in beer and vegetable oil until a smooth batter forms.

  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and lightly coat with vegetable oil.

  4. Dip fish fillets into the batter, then place them in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown.

  5. In a small bowl, mash avocado with sour cream and hot sauce to make the sauce.

  6. Warm tortillas in the skillet, then top with fish, salsa, and avocado sauce.
