Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes or until foamy.

  2. In another bowl, mix the flour and salt.

  3. Gradually add the yeast mixture, milk, and vegetable oil to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions.

  7. Shape each portion into a round bun and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  8. Cover the buns with the kitchen towel and let them rise again for 30 minutes.

  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  10. Brush the buns with milk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if desired.

  11. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

  12. Allow the buns to cool before slicing and using them for burgers or hot dogs.
