How To Make Red Hots Cinnamon Sugar Cookies
These cookies are sweet, spicy and perfect for any occasion!
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup Red Hots candies, finely crushed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar, for rolling
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture.

Mix in crushed Red Hots candies.

Form dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Roll balls in remaining sugar until coated.

Place cookies onto prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are light golden brown.

Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
