Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls Mix
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, yeast, King’s Hawaiian mix, and salt.

  2. Add warm milk, egg yolks, and butter. Mix until dough is smooth and elastic.

  3. Cover bowl with a damp towel and let dough rise in a warm spot for 1 hour.

  4. On a floured surface, roll dough into 2-inch balls. Cover with damp towel and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.

  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry dough balls until golden brown on both sides.

  6. Remove from oil and let cool on paper towels.

  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
