How To Make Dave’s Low Country Boil

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, deveined and shells removed
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 ears of corn, husked and halved
  • 1.5 lbs baby red potatoes
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt. Stir well.

  2. Add the potatoes to the pot and cook for 15 minutes until slightly tender.

  3. Add the corn and sausage to the pot and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

  4. Add the shrimp and cook for 5 minutes until pink and cooked through.

  5. Drain the water and transfer the boil to a serving platter.

  6. Squeeze the lemon halves over the boil and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
