How To Make Festive Cookies for the Freezer
Make a fresh batch of everyone’s favorite dessert! With these cookie recipes, you can bake all kinds of different sweet treats. Make a classic snack with chocolate chip cookies. Or, switch it up by adding nuts, raisins, and other ingredients to keep things interesting.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Assorted festive sprinkles or colored sugar, for decorating
Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a log. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Remove one log of dough from the freezer and slice into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Place the cookies onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Decorate each cookie with festive sprinkles or colored sugar.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Repeat steps 7-10 with the remaining dough.

Once cooled, store the cookies in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
