  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup lemonade
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk and lemonade. Mix until just combined.

  5. Fold in the lemon zest and chopped strawberries.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
