Ingredients

  • 1tbspvegetable oil,or as needed
  • 5shallots,sliced
  • 1tomato,chopped
  • 5clovesgarlic,chopped
  • 5red chile peppers,dried, chopped
  • tbspground coriander
  • 1tbspground cumin
  • 1tspblack mustard seed
  • 1tspground turmeric
  • 1tspground black pepper
  • 2cupswater
  • 1white radish,peeled and sliced
  • salt,to taste
  • 2green onions,sliced
  • 1sprigcilantro leaves,chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute shallots, tomato, and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Add red chiles, coriander, cumin, mustard seed, turmeric, and black pepper.

  2. Cook and stir for 8 to 10 minutes until thick paste forms. Pour in water; add radish and season with salt.

  3. Simmer for about 7 minutes until small bubbles appear. Remove from heat; stir in green onions and cilantro.
