Whip up a simple and rustic apple crostata, made with a sweet combination of apple, cinnamon, and allspice, for a delectably flavorful tart!

Ingredients

  • 1pie crust,(9-inch)
  • 5granny smith apples
  • ½cupsugar
  • 3tbspflour
  • 1tspcinnamon
  • 1tspvanilla extract
  • 1tbspsanding sugar
  • 1large egg white
  • 1tbspwater

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line the baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples, then place them into a large bowl.

  3. Add the vanilla, sugar, flour, and cinnamon to the large bowl, then toss well with the apples.

  4. Roll out the pie crust to 12-inch wide, then add the apples to the center, leaving at least 3-inch around the edges. Fold up the border in 2-inch wide sections all the way around the crust.

  5. Combine the egg white with the water, then brush it on the edge of the pie crust, then sprinkle it with the sanding sugar.

  6. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

  7. Serve warm, and enoy!
