How To Make Homemade White Gravy

This homemade white gravy will turn your dishes into the ultimate comfort food. Use it as a topping for mashed potatoes or biscuits for that rustic touch.

  • ¼ cup Butter, salted
  • ¼ cup Flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper


  1. In a medium sauce pan, combine butter and flour.
  2. Heat over medium heat until butter melts.
  3. Once butter and flour is cooked, pour in milk.
  4. Continue to pour in milk and whisk to make sure there are no lumps.
  5. Allow the gravy to simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes or until thick.

  6. If it is too thick, add more milk.

  7. If it is to thin, allow it to simmer longer.

  8. Taste and add more salt if needed.
  9. Serve immediately.
