How To Make Harissa Lentil Soup Recipe
A hearty and spicy soup made with lentils and harissa paste, perfect for chilly days.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp harissa paste
- 1 cup red lentils, rinsed
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Add onion and garlic and sauté for 5 minutes or until onion is soft.

Add harissa paste and stir for 1 minute.

Add lentils, vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 40-45 minutes or until lentils are tender.

Stir in lemon juice.

Using an immersion blender, blend until smooth (optional).

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
