Seasoned buckwheat and onions are cooked with butter, pesto sauce, and parmesan cheese for this grilled pesto buckwheat recipe.

  • 1⅓cupswater
  • cupbuckwheat
  • ¼cupbutter
  • 2tbsppesto sauce
  • ½white onion,chopped
  • salt,to taste
  • ¼cupparmesan cheese


  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add buckwheat; cover. Reduce heat to low; cook for 20 minutes until water is absorbed. Remove from heat; fluff with a fork.

  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in pesto sauce and onion.

  3. Cook and stir for about 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Add buckwheat; stir to combine. Season with salt and top with Parmesan cheese.
