Layers of light and dark spices make a very pretty gift in a jar that you can sprinkle on your favorite desserts or drinks for added taste.

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cardamom
  • ½ tsp ground coriander

Instructions

  1. In a tall, narrow, clear jar, roughly ⅓ to ½ cup in size, layer the ingredients, contrasting light layers with dark layers.

Attach the following instructions to the jar:

  1. Five Spice Sugar
  2. To use, shake jar or stir spices until blended.
  3. Sprinkle liberally onto buttered toast, sliced fruit, or tapioca pudding.

  4. Or sprinkle the sugar onto muffin batter in pans before baking.
