How To Make Creamy Caramel Apple Dippers
Everyone will love these easy-to-make apple dippers made from sliced apples and served with a creamy caramel dip made from cream cheese, vanilla, and more!
Serves:
Ingredients
- ½cupgranulated sugar
- ¼cupwater
- ½cupheavy cream
- ½tspvanilla extract
- ¼tspcinnamon
- 8ozcream cheese,(1 brick) low-fat, at room temperature
- 4apples,cored, thinly sliced
Instructions
-
Briefly stir together the granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
-
Continue cooking for about 6 to 7 minutes without stirring, until the mixture turns dark amber in color. (Watch very carefully to be sure that it does not burn as it can go from amber to black very quickly.)
-
Remove from the heat and slowly add in the cream (just start with 1 to 2 tablespoons).
-
Stir with a wooden spoon until completely smooth. (Be careful, as the mixture will definitely bubble up and possibly splatter a bit as you add in the cream.)
-
Stir in the vanilla and cinnamon until well-combined. Set aside for about 25 minutes, until cool to the touch,
-
Using an electric mixer, mix the cream cheese on medium-speed until completely smooth.
-
Drizzle in the caramel and mix on medium speed until smooth. Serve with apple slices.
Recipe Notes
These can also be served with some sea salt sprinkled on top for a salted creamy caramel dip.
