How To Make Cranberry-Blueberry Sauce

This sweet and tart cranberry-blueberry sauce also has cinnamon, ginger, and orange flavors. It’s a great accompaniment to oatmeal, pancakes, and more.

Ingredients

  • 4cupsfresh cranberries
  • cupswater
  • 1orange,zested and juiced
  • 4cinnamon sticks
  • 1pcfresh ginger,grated
  • 1tspvanilla extract
  • 6whole cloves
  • ½tspnutmeg,freshly grated
  • ¼tspallspice,ground
  • 1pintblueberries
  • ¾tspmaple syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix cranberries, water, orange zest and juice, cinnamon sticks, ginger, vanilla extract, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice together in a large saucepan until well combined; bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes or until many of the cranberries pop and sauce starts to thicken.

  3. Add blueberries and maple syrup; cook and stir until mixture returns to a simmer. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes until desired consistency.

  4. Allow to cool completely. Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves; refrigerate for 6 hours, to overnight.
