How To Make Bold Teriyaki Sauce

Add a bit more savory to your meals with this hearty teriyaki sauce! It’s super easy to whip up, and works brilliantly with chicken meals and more.

Ingredients

For Teriyaki Sauce:

  • ½: 5px”>½cupwater
  • cuphoneyor maple syrup
  • 1tbsprice vinegaror white wine vinegar
  • 2tbspfresh gingergrated
  • 6garlic clovespressed or minced

For Slurry:

  • 1tbspcornstarchor arrowroot starch
  • 1tbspwater

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, water, honey, vinegar, ginger and garlic.

  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.

  4. Once the sauce is simmering, whisk the slurry once more and pour it into the sauce.

  5. Continue cooking, while stirring continuously, for 30 seconds until the sauce has thickened.

  6. Remove the sauce from the heat.

  7. Serve over chicken, pork, or any desired meals, and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

 

To store for later, let the sauce cool to room temperature before covering and refrigerating. Teriyaki sauce tastes best when it is fresh, but will keep for 1 to 2 weeks in the fridge.
