How To Make Swiss Chard with Toasted Sesame Seeds
Adding toasted sesame seeds to Swiss chard really adds a lot of flavors. You can even drizzle on some sesame oil for an even richer taste.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 small raw Swiss chard
- 2 tsp olive oil
- ½ cup water
- 2 tsp margarine spread, soft tub
- 4 lemon wedges
- kosher salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Sprinkle the sesame seeds on the bottom of a large pot and toast.
- Remove and set aside the seeds.

Wash the Swiss chard thoroughly and cut the stem away from the leaves at the thickest part.
- Chop the leaves into bite-size pieces.
- Add the olive oil to the pot and let the oil get warm.
- Add the chard and water to help the steaming process.

Cook the Swiss chard with the cover on for about 8 to 10 minutes, until the leaves start to wilt.
- Drain any excess water and place in a large bowl.

Add salt and pepper to taste, add the spread, lemon juice, and toasted sesame seeds.
