How To Make Lentil Loaf Recipe

This vegetarian dish is a hearty and flavorful alternative to traditional meatloaf.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green lentils, cooked and mashed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed lentils, breadcrumbs, onion, carrot, garlic, tomato paste, thyme, sage, smoked paprika, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  3. Grease a loaf pan with olive oil and transfer the lentil mixture into the pan, smoothing out the top with a spoon.

  4. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is browned and crispy.

  5. Allow the lentil loaf to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
