This mixed veggies recipe, inspired by Panda Express, is a vibrant combo of carrots, cabbage, zucchini, and broccoli in a savory sesame soy sauce.

  • 2cupschicken stock
  • 1cupbroccoli florets
  • zucchini ,medium, sliced into ½-inch slices and cut into half circles
  • 1cupcarrots,peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½lbstring beans ,trimmed
  • ¼head cabbage,cut into 2-inch pieces
  • sesame seeds ,optional
  • salt ,or soy sauce, optional


  1. Heat the stock in a pot and fit a steamer basket into the pot.

  2. Add the vegetables and bring the stock to a boil on medium-high heat.

  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Remove the basket and serve.

  5. Add salt or soy sauce to taste if you’d like.
