How To Make Sauerkraut Stew

The sauerkraut gives a lovely texture and zing to this stew recipe.

Ingredients

  • ½ lb stew meat
  • 32 oz sauerkraut
  • 32 oz tomatoes with hot peppers
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 lb okra, fresh or frozen
  • black pepper , to taste
  • salt , sauerkraut has salt so be careful, to taste
  • hot pepper sauce , to taste
  • Creole seasoning , to taste
  • oregano , to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut meat into bite sizes.

  2. Chop onion into medium sizes.

  3. Put in a slow cooker.

  4. Add sauerkraut and okra.

  5. Add tomatoes (can be diced, whole, etc. depending on your preference), add spices and stir all ingredients together.

  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

  7. Serve over pasta or rice or by itself.
