How To Make Easy Red Lentil Soup

Enjoy a warm bowl of red lentil soup packed with nutritious veggies such as celery, carrot, red lentils, and garlic, soaked in vegetable or chicken broth.

Preparation: 5 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 35 minutes



  • 2tbspolive oil
  • 1cupwhite onion,chopped
  • ½cupcelery,chopped
  • ½cupcarrots,chopped
  • ½cupred pepper,diced, roasted
  • 3garlic cloves,chopped
  • 3cupschicken broth,or vegetable broth
  • 1cupred lentils
  • 1tsppaprika,smoked


  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, celery, carrots, roasted red pepper, and garlic and saute for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onion is cooked and translucent.

  2. Add the broth, lentils, and smoked paprika. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the lentils are cooked.

  3. Serve warm.
