A thick, creamy soup that’s perfect for any occasion with a smoky bacon flavor and tender clams.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bacon, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp of all-purpose flour

- 1 cup of half and half
- 2 cans of chopped clams (6.5 oz each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
-
In a large pot, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the pot.
-
Add onions and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
-
Add flour and stir for 2 minutes until fully combined.
-
Add clam juice and potatoes, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are cooked and tender.
-
Add half and half and clams, cook until heated through.
-
Season with salt and pepper, top with crispy bacon and parsley, and serve.
