  • 2cupswater
  • 2cupspotatoes,peeled, diced
  • ½cupcarrots,diced
  • ½cupcelery,chopped
  • ¼cuponions,chopped
  • tspsalt
  • ¼tspground black pepper
  • 1cupham,cubed, cooked
  • ¼cupbutter
  • ¼cupall-purpose flour
  • 2cupsmilk
  • 2cupscheddar cheese,shredded


  1. In a large saucepan, mix the water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, salt, and pepper.

  2. Bring to boil, then reduce the heat. Simmer 30 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

  3. Mix the ham into the vegetable mixture.

  4. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour until smooth, then slowly pour in the milk.

  5. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in the Cheddar cheese until melted.

  6. Mix the melted cheese mixture with the vegetable mixture.

  7. Serve warm, and enjoy!
