Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, ground
  • 2 onions, large, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup celery, diced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 28 oz tomatoes , or 2 lb frozen
  • 10 oz tomato paste
  • 2 cups raw potatoes, diced
  • 2 cups carrots, diced
  • 4 cups beef stock
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 7 leaves cabbage, coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Saute beef, onions, garlic, celery and green pepper in oil.
  2. Add remaining ingredients except for the cabbage. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour.
  3. Add cabbage and simmer for 1 more hour, adding more water up to 3 cups if necessary. Serve warm.
