  • 1lbbeef chuck
  • 1cantomato puree
  • 1cupblack beans,dried
  • 1medium red onion
  • 2garlic cloves
  • 3tbspchili powder
  • coarse salt and ground pepper
  • ¼cupsour cream

Instructions

  1. In a 5 to 6-quart slow cooker, combine the beef, tomato puree, beans, onion (reserve 1 tablespoon for garnish), garlic, chili powder, 2 cups of water, 2 teaspoons of salt, and pepper.

  2. Cover, and cook on High for 6 hours (or on Low for 8 hours).

  3. Serve topped with sour cream and reserved onion.
