How To Make Jambalaya Recipe

A spicy, hearty rice dish with a mixture of sausage, chicken, and shrimp.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. of chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 lb. of sausage, sliced
  • 1 lb. of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp of Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp of dried thyme
  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups of cooked rice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the chicken over medium-high heat until browned.

  2. Add in the sausage and cook for a few more minutes.

  3. Add in the bell pepper, onion, celery, and garlic, and cook until the vegetables are tender.

  4. Add in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and all of the seasonings, stirring until well combined.

  5. Add in the shrimp and simmer until it turns pink.

  6. Remove the bay leaf and serve over cooked rice.
