Apple-Roasted Turkey Recipe

Ingredients

  • 14 lb. whole turkey
  • 3 sweet green apples, or red apples, quartered
  • 1 large lemon, quartered
  • 2 heads garlic
  • 5 sprigs thyme
  • 5 sprigs sage
  • 3 sprigs rosemary
  • 2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. freshly cracked pepper
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 stick butter, sliced

Instructions

  1. Rinse the turkey and pat it dry.
  2. Cut the tops off of the garlic.
  3. Clean out the cavity and stuff it with the apples, lemon, rosemary, thyme, and sage.
  4. Coat the turkey with the olive oil and sprinkle it with salt and pepper.
  5. Put thin slits in the skin of the turkey and place the slices of butter in them.
  6. Cook on high for 3-3½ hours.
