How To Make Kung Pao Shrimp

Cook up a hearty serving of this rich and spicy kung pao shrimp for dinner tonight! Whip up a delicious Chinese meal in just 15 minutes.

Total: 15 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2tbspcanola oil
  • 1lbshrimp,peeled and deveined, (13 to 15 count)
  • 1tspsesame oil
  • 2tspgarlic,minced
  • 2tspginger,minced
  • 10Chinese szechuan chilis
  • ½green bell pepper,thinly sliced
  • 1tspcooking wine,like white wine
  • tbspsoy sauce
  • 1tbspcornstarch,mixed with 4 tbsp water
  • 4green onions stalks,cut into 1-inch segments
  • ¼cuppeanuts,dry roasted

Instructions

  1. Add the canola oil to a heavy skillet on medium-high heat.

  2. Add the shrimp, then cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.

  3. Remove the shrimp from the pan.

  4. Add in the sesame oil, garlic, ginger, red chili peppers, and green bell peppers, then cook for 30 seconds, stirring frequently.

  5. Add in the cooking wine, soy sauce, and the cornstarch slurry.

  6. Cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently until slightly thickened.

  7. Add in the peanuts and green onions, then stir.

  8. Add in the shrimp, then stir together to combine.

  9. Serve warm, and enjoy!
